My name is Chad Nelson and I grew up on a farm in Minnesota. Football was my favorite sport at the time, so I got started with weightlifting in high school. Along the way, I’ve played around with multiple sports and dabbled a bit in sprint triathlons. I moved to sunny Florida in 2008 and Gordo introduced me to CrossFit. It took a few months of giving CrossFit a half hearted try before I decided to give it a fair chance and start doing CrossFit workouts regularly. It’s been full speed ahead since then. I’m a CrossFit level 1 certified instructor at the moment, but have had the benefit of Gordo’s experience and coaching to help me mature as a fitness instructor. I’m looking forward to earning more certs in the future. |

I am originally from the great state of NM. After high school graduation, I did a tour in the USMC... Semper Fidelis! Afterwards, I came back home and got my B.S. in Computer Engineering from UNM. Semper Lobos?
Anyway, in the spring of 2007, I was living in DFW and discovered CrossFit by accident. I started dabbling and mixing in a couple "CrossFit workouts" into my regime each week. After a while, it became obvious that even in the haphazard manner I was using it, it was far superior to anything I'd done before. I decided to commit to doing solely CrossFit sometime that fall. I haven't looked back. CrossFit has changed my life. I lost about 40 pounds. I got stronger and faster than I'd ever been before. I obtained my L1 cert in April of 2009 and love coaching. |

I’m CrossFit Level 1 certified instructor. Most importantly, I’m a husband to my wonderful wife Laura, and a father to Hannah (13) and Benjamin (9). I’m excited to work with the rest of the trainers at LCF as we help guide athletes in their pursuit of serious fitness.
I’m another NM native transplanted the emerald coast. I grew up in Santa Fe, NM. Sports have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I’ve never met a game /sport I didn’t enjoy playing, or make an attempt to become proficient in. Between elementary school and college I played just about any organized sport I could. My interests ranged from gymnastics to golf, skiing to volleyball, while of course playing the “big 3” football, basketball and track. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play football for a small college in northern NM, NM Highlands University…go Cowboys. I played outside linebacker and handled the punting duties. During the off season, I worked on the athletic training staff as a student trainer for the basketball and baseball teams.
Over the past 13 years, triathlon and cycling have been my sports of choice. I compete in handful of Sprint to International distance races a year. This fall I will compete in my second half-ironman. It’s taken me 7 years to forget the pain associated with the first one! I was introduced to CrossFit in early 2008. At first, I wasn’t sure I could get a good workout in such a short duration…that flawed thinking quickly changed. Gordo and the rest of the CrossFit corps of instructors at LCF have patiently and skillfully guided me to better fitness than I could have imagined. While I have a long way to go, I whole-heartedly embraced CrossFit. 3 -2-1 WORK! |

Hello, my name is Kunle Thomas. I am currently an active member of the United States Air Force. As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with strength training and the mental discipline it brings to the table. I began weight training at the age of 18 and even though I saw tremendous strength increase, my overall fitness suffered.
One fateful day, I was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 by a friend and it did not take long for me to realize CrossFit’s constantly varied and high intensity approach to training was the right path that I needed to take. I am a Level 1 certified trainer and currently in the best shape of my life.
I enjoy playing the beautiful game of Futball, golfing and cooking but most of all I just love to eat!
I strongly believe that there is an athlete in each and every one of us that wants to keep feeling, looking and living better. By incorporating the lifestyle that is CrossFit, let me help you reach your inner athlete.

Hi!
Angel was born at Eglin AFB and has lived in the local area ever since. She's married, has a daughter and son-in-law, and works at Eglin.
In January of 2007, a USMC major (Gordo) started working in her office and within the first week he was was showing her CrossFit videos. He asked if she was interested, but at the time she was attending college and her time was limited so she waited until she was finished to give it a try. A few months after graduation she committed to one month of CrossFit. And after that month, if she hated it she could quit. That was April of 2008. Angel is still CrossFitting.
She obtained her L1 certification in December of 2008 and her CrossFit Kids cert in January of 2010. Angel is a strict "Zoner" and loves kids. Please talk to her about getting in the Zone and involving your kids in CrossFit. |
